The first APC Conference was held as part of the 2021 Summit of the International Society for the Study of Information!

The Association for Philosophy and Computing (APC) was formed on May 24, 2020. The Association works to provide forums for the critical and creative examination of information, computation, computers, and other computationally enabled technologies (such as robots), and endeavors not only to enrich philosophical research and pedagogy, but to reach beyond philosophy to enrich other discourses, both academic and non-academic. This mission statement reflects the APC’s roots in the longstanding APA Committee on Philosophy and Computers. The Association for Philosophy and Computing is an affiliate of the American Philosophical Association.
